Our beloved Cape Cod

We are sincerely delighted, we dreamed of the boat, Rosewest and Hervé did it!
It is noble and beautiful, in addition to being very fast and easy to navigate.

Our Cape Cod is adored by all members of the nautical club of Javea, it is an evidence of elegance that delights both young and old local sea-wolves!

With Alicia, we are on the starting line of the regattas of Jávea and the neighboring club of Denia. Two young steerers of the club are often on board, the boat defends very well its ORC rating, the theoretical reference is easily reached, and we often win!
We are preparing for our first participation in the Mare Nostrum trophy. We are looking forward to being in Barcelona in September, where the trophy brings together classic sailing boats to more modern, neoclassical manufacture, 5 of the most prestigious Spanish clubs in the Mediterranean are present.

Last weekend, I broke my speed record 10.4 knots with 22 knots of established wind, a good swell, what a pleasure… !

Our two girls love their Tikehau, but they complain because they are not invited to the training or the regattas!
Alice 9 years old, already takes the helm, and often invite her friends from the optimistic club. They are fans because there is plenty of room on board to stop in the coves! Also fans of the marking of the pirate on the sails, it contributes to the fame of the day-sailor on the water and symbolizes our maritime family history!

Our sailboat ages very well, and with the use, we realize all the intelligence of the boat.
Sometimes you can be disappointed between what you have dreamed, and reality, but with the Cape Cod, there is nothing we could have done differently: I just added a pulley to bring my foc back a little more.

Finally I was so tamed by our Tikehau and the pleasure of regattas that it made me want to launch myself on the Clipper Round The World Yacht race, I go offshore in Sept 2025!

Estamos sinceramente encantados, ¡lo habíamos soñado y Rosewest lo ha hecho realidad! El velero es noble y hermoso, además de muy rápido y fácil de navegar. Nuestro Cape Cod es querido por todos en el club náutico de Jávea; ¡es una evidencia de elegancia que gusta por igual a jóvenes y viejos lobos de mar!.

Con Alicia, estamos en la línea de salida de las regatas de Jávea con dos jóvenes tripulantes. El barco defiende muy bien su rating ORC, la referencia teórica es fácilmente alcanzable, ¡y confesamos que ganamos a menudo! Nos estamos preparando para nuestra primera participación en Barcelona en septiembre en el trofeo Mare Nostrum. El evento hace parte del circuito de vela clásica, de época y veleros Espíritu Tradición más importante del calendario y que reúne a algunos de los clubes españoles más prestigiosos del mediterráneo.

El fin de semana pasado, batí mi récord de velocidad 10,4 nudos con 22 nudos de viento establecido, un buen oleaje, ¡qué placer…!

A nuestras dos hijas les encanta su Tikehau, ¡pero se quejan porque no están invitadas a los entrenamientos ni a las regatas! Alice, de 9 años, ya lleva el timón, e invita a bordo a sus amigas del club de optimist. ¡Hay mucho espacio a bordo cuando nos detenemos en las calas! Además, la calavera de pirata en las velas, que sigue siendo una historia familiar, contribuye a la fama del daysailer en el agua.

Nuestro dayboat envejece muy bien, y con el uso, uno se da cuenta que siempre, en cada detalle, todo tiene sentido en el barco. En otras ocasiones uno puede estar decepcionado entre lo soñado y la realidad, pero con el Cape Cod, no hay nada que podríamos haber hecho de otra manera. En dos años solamente hemos añadido unos carros para el foque para un trimado más competitivo porque no habíamos imaginado que meteríamos tanto en el mundo de las regatas.

Estamos tan “picados” que no nos basta con las regatas de nuestro club: nos hemos inscrito también en el trofeo 5 clubs que añade 10 regatas al calendario en puertos vecinos. ¡La verdad es que gracias a la práctica continua con nuestro Tikehau me ha dado ganas de navegar y regatear más y más, hasta el punto que me he venido arriba y me he inscrito en la Clipper Round The World Yacht Race, ¡zarpo para el principio de la circunnavegación por etapas en septiembre de 2025!
